Postcards from Kent

The Jubilee weekend for me was less about waving Union Jacks in the rain and more about celebrating being with family.  I spent a lovely few days hanging out with my little nephew, catching up with the grown ups and taking far too many photos.  As the fair was in town on Saturday, we took a stroll down to the beach front to check it out – unfortunately fun fairs lost their appeal for me a long time ago, probably because my sister and I once had a traumatic experience in France when all of our Francs came flying out of our pockets on our first ride and we had to trudge back to our tent early and empty handed – those things stay with you for life.  We didn’t even risk the rides this time, I just amused my old gambling habit – the 2p machine – and then we headed back to the peace and quiet of my parent’s house where we pretty much stayed for the rest of the weekend.
