We decided to make the most of the sunshine and take an impromptu camping trip this weekend. As we don’t have a car at the moment and we were only going for a short stay we looked for a local spot and found a fantastic place just a train ride away in Fife, Gimme Shelter Woodland Camping. The site was great, it’s run by a lovely couple who have opened up their woodlands to happy campers, they also make hand-carved furniture and have a number of wooden shacks dotted amongst the trees. We had our own fire pit which we made full use of, with Tim running off every ten minutes to find more kindling while I sat, drinking wine and reading my book – it was a lovely trip and we’ll certainly be back again.
We managed to get home before 12 on Sunday, leaving enough time to make the most of the sun, clean the tent, tidy the flat and I even found enough energy to print some more fabric and make a new peg bag. Perfect weekend.
I’ve picked some of my favourite bits from the weekend in the photos above. I’ve also started putting some onto Flickr so you can see them in full on there.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend too.
