When Edinburgh went mad for football at the weekend, I went mad for printing.
Amid the shouting from our neighbours, the beeping of car horns and the helicopter flying overhead (we live very near the stadium), I found peace and quiet in my messy craft corner.
I’m continually inspired by the wonderful A Beautiful Mess blog where they include loads of lovely, easy techniques and projects that have a high visual impact, so I took some ideas from it for my first attempt at making stamps. I didn’t have any cork to back my foam board stamps so improvised with polystyrene and cocktail sticks – a bit fiddly but it did the trick.
Here are some pictures of my projects. The top is a table runner for my herbs to sit on, the middle is a heart stamped cushion (I made the cover too) and the last one is my triangle print. They all have a few tiny little flaws, but I am a firm believer in the idea that it just adds character.

Love these creations! Bon Bon Triangle…:)
Hello, just stumbled accross your blog through Hello Flower. I have that same tiny sewing machine in pale blue! Shamefully it is packed in a box at the moment though. Love the print by way – simple but effective.
Hi Jessica, thanks for the comments. I like the pale blue one too, they keep bringing out new colours but I don’t know if I can justify a mini sewing machine collection! Lovely photos on your blog by the way
