I spent a lovely, long weekend staying with my friends Vicky and Hamish and their cat, Foxy Brown in Newport which is just across the water from Dundee. I lived and worked in Dundee for over four years and think it’s a bloody fantastic town, full of people who are brimming with stories to tell. It’s being slightly hacked apart at the moment as the regeneration continues, but it is all for a good cause with the amazing V&A still due to be built on the waterside. But it’s not just about the V&A, i’ve noticed a lot of new things happening such as Fleet Collective, Pecha Kucha nights and Two Dolls who are all growing rapidly. There seem to be a lot more independent shops and cafes which can only be a good thing, especially for people obsessed with cake like me. It was generally a great weekend of food, wine and laughter and it was fab to catch up with friends from my old job at the Rep.
Here are a few things from my weekend…
Beautiful views from Vicky’s flat.
Vicky really is the hostess with the mostess, her homemade pickled onions were amazing.
Lunch at The Phoenix, the best pub in Dundee by far.
Tea and cake at one of the new cafes, T Ann Cake.
Saturday morning pancakes, if this was Breakfast Club they would get a 9…
I also had to add a picture of the massive pie I came home to, made by Tim’s very own hands. It tasted great, the boy did good.

Looks like such a lovely weekend! Go Dundee & Go Tim Tim!!! X
